Silestone vs. Granite

  • Silestone takes the best and hardest part of granite (quartz) and puts it all into one material. Granite may only have up to 50% quartz, while the rest is made up of feldspar and other minerals.
  • Granite has to be sealed in order to fill the pores/pits in the natural stone.  If you don’t continue to seal the granite on a regular basis,  the granite will be much more prone to staining. Because Silestone is man made without pores/pits, it does not need to be sealed and never needs to be sealed.
